11th International Conference - Whales in a Changing World
November 13-16, 2008 - Monterey, California

Whales in a Changing World - Silent Auction

---

Dear Friend of the Whales,

Please help protect whales, dolphins, and porpoises by making a donation to the American Cetacean Society Silent Auction being held on November 15 in Monterey Bay, California.

This is an ideal opportunity to promote your products to hundreds of the world’s leading ocean explorers, marine biologists, researchers, environmentalists, writers, artists, government officials, and other distinguished guests who will be attending the 11th International Conference sponsored by ACS.

ACS is the oldest whale conservation group in the world. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of volunteers from all walks of life who reside in more than 20 countries. What sets us apart from other organizations is our ability to bridge humanity and science in meaningful ways. Our programs include whale watching trips, free teaching aids, research projects, and conservation advocacy. Our goal is the protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises for the enjoyment of future generations.

In recognition of your generous contribution, we will gratefully acknowledge our appreciation for your donation in our Silent Auction Program and in our online publications. With your help, we can work together to protect cetaceans and their habitats, address the impact of extraordinary environmental changes that threaten all species, and participate in a global effort to create a more positive future – for whales and for ourselves.

Please help us secure the future by donating to our Silent Auction and taking a tax deduction for the retail value of your contribution (new merchandise, services, cash, or gift certificates) and be a part of this exciting event that will focus on “Whales in a Changing World”.

Items must be received as soon as possible. The conference begins next Friday, November 14. There are two shipping options depending on when items are sent:

DONATION IDEAS:

Do you work somewhere that might contribute their goods or services? Do you have a timeshare you won’t be using this year? How about a beautiful piece of art, something you’ve created or a piece from your collection that you’re willing to part with?  Are you involved with a membership organization that might be willing to donate a free membership? How about whale watching tickets from your local company? Are there other businesses in your neighborhood, or places that you frequent, that you could ask for a donation?

Items do not have to be whale/dolphin related, but it’s great if they are, too! We’re looking for hotel stays, wine, dinner for 2, books, unique and interesting items, or everyday things that have a special touch.

If you have questions, please contact me at 310-500-8485 or dianealps@acsonline.org.
